“Text me when you get home!” Your iPhone can send that message for you, automatically.
What Check In Does
Check In tells a friend or family member when you arrive, with no texting while you drive. If you stall or don’t answer, it checks on you. Both phones need iOS 17 or newer.
Start a Check In
Open the conversation in Messages, tap +, then Check In. Tap Edit to choose where you’re going and how (driving, transit or walking), then tap Send.
If Something’s Wrong
If you don’t arrive and don’t respond, they get your location, battery and signal. You choose how much is shared in Settings › Apps › Messages.
Bonus Tip: Share Your Location
Tap +, then Location, and share for one hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely.
