Typing a dash and a space in front of every line? In Google Docs, select your lines and press Ctrl + Shift + 8. They become a neat bulleted list in one press.

The Shortcut

  • Ctrl + Shift + 8: bulleted list
  • Ctrl + Shift + 7: numbered list
  • Mac: ⌘ + Shift + 8 / ⌘ + Shift + 7

Bonus Tip: Tab for Sub-Points

Click a list item and press Tab to tuck it in as a sub-point. Shift + Tab moves it back out. It works in Microsoft Word, too.
