Dragging windows around and resizing them by hand to get two things side by side takes forever. Windows can do it in one move: click a window and press the Windows key + Left Arrow or Right Arrow.
The Shortcut
- Windows key + ←: snap to the left half
- Windows key + →: snap to the right half
- Works on Windows 10 and Windows 11
Let Snap Assist Fill the Other Side
As soon as you snap a window, Snap Assist shows your other open windows. Click one and it fills the other half of the screen.
Bonus Tip: Snap Layouts on Windows 11
Press Windows key + Z to open snap layouts. Pick a layout with thirds or quarters, then let Snap Assist fill in the rest.
